Description

Delicious and chewy chocolate chip oatmeal cookies that bring warmth and nostalgia to any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Beat in the egg until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in the oats and chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For softer cookies, try chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Old-fashioned oats provide the best texture.
