Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Beat in the egg until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the oats and chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For softer cookies, try chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Old-fashioned oats provide the best texture.
