Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies. For variation, try adding nuts or different types of chocolate.
