Description

Delicious brookies that combine rich brownie and chewy chocolate chip cookie layers for a delightful treat.


Ingredients

  • For the Brownie Layer:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • For the Cookie Layer:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla. Mix until fluffy.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. In a separate bowl, cream softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
  7. In another bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually combine with the wet mixture, then fold in chocolate chips.
  8. Scoop and spread the cookie dough over the brownie layer.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  10. Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

For an extra touch, serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on the side.
