A quick and flavorful stir fry featuring tender beef and caramelized onions, perfect for a weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef (sliced thinly)
- 2 large onions (sliced)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon ginger (minced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Steamed rice for serving
Instructions
- Marinate the beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add ginger and garlic, stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in the sliced onions and continue to stir-fry until the onions are caramelized, around 4-5 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the stir-fry over steamed rice.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding a dash of sesame oil at the end of cooking. Experiment with adding vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas.
