Description

Learn how to make delicious Cheesy Sausage Stuffed Peppers with this easy recipe. Perfect for a flavorful weeknight meal or entertaining guests!

Ingredients

  • – 6 green peppers (6)
  • – 1 pound ground beef (454 g)
  • – 1 pound (454 g) beef sausage
  • – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) seasoned salt
  • – 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) freshly ground black pepper
  • – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) minced onion or 1/2 cup (120 ml) freshly chopped onion
  • – 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (170 g)
  • – 4 ounces cream cheese, softened (113 g)
  • – 1/4 cup grated vegetarian hard cheese (25 g)
  • – 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (226 g)

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 400°F and lightly oil a 9×13 baking pan along with a smaller square dish, like an 8×8 one.
  2. Cook the ground beef and beef sausage until browned, then remove any excess fat.
  3. Rinse and cut the green peppers in half, removing seeds and cores.
  4. Combine the cooked meat with seasoned salt, black pepper, minced onion, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese.
  5. Fill each halved pepper with the meat mixture and place them in the oven, covered, for 15 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle the vegetarian hard cheese and mozzarella cheese over the peppers and continue baking, uncovered, for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and the peppers are as soft as you prefer.

Notes

  • Consider adding a hint of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the meat mixture for a spicier flavor.
  • Experiment with different cheeses like pepper jack or smoked gouda for a unique taste.
  • For a crispier topping, broil the stuffed peppers briefly after baking.
