Deliciously satisfying cheesy meatball subs, bursting with flavor from juicy meatballs, melted mozzarella, and savory marinara sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 jar marinara sauce
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 4 hoagie rolls
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well and shape into meatballs.
- Cook the meatballs in a skillet over medium heat until browned.
- Add the marinara sauce to the skillet and simmer for about 15 minutes.
- Split the hoagie rolls and place the meatballs inside.
- Top with mozzarella cheese and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve warm.
Notes
For a lighter option, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
