Description
A comforting casserole that combines the classic flavors of a cheeseburger with tender macaroni and gooey cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef with the diced onion and minced garlic.
- Drain any excess fat.
- Add the elbow macaroni, beef broth, milk, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the macaroni is cooked through.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
- Serve warm.
Notes
For added flavor, use high-quality block cheese instead of pre-shredded. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes after cooking for better flavor integration.
