Description

A comforting casserole that combines the classic flavors of cheeseburgers with pasta, making it perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: pickles, for garnish


Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef and onion until cooked through.
  2. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the pasta, beef broth, diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to the pot.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, or until pasta is tender.
  5. Stir in the cheddar cheese until melted.
  6. Serve warm, optionally garnished with pickles.

Notes

For extra flavor, scrape the bottom of the pot while browning the beef. Adjust seasonings to taste.
