Description
A delightful treat combining fall flavors of caramel and apples, with a crunchy texture from gluten-free pretzels.
Ingredients
- 12 oz milk or dark chocolate
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 cup soft baking caramels (melted)
- 1 medium green apple (chopped or thinly sliced)
- 1 cup chopped gluten-free pretzels or nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds)
- 1/4 cup melted chocolate for drizzling
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and line a 9×13 sheet pan with parchment paper.
- Soak chopped apple pieces in water with lemon juice for 5–10 minutes to prevent browning.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate with coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared parchment paper, spreading it into an even layer about 1/4 inch thick.
- Top with crushed pretzels, diced apple pieces, and drizzle melted caramel and any remaining melted chocolate.
- Refrigerate for 1–2 hours, or freeze for the last 20 minutes, until the chocolate is set.
- Break or cut the bark into bite-sized pieces and serve.
Notes
Consider adding a pinch of salt to the chocolate for contrast with the sweetness. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for best texture.
