Description

A delightful treat combining fall flavors of caramel and apples, with a crunchy texture from gluten-free pretzels.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz milk or dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 cup soft baking caramels (melted)
  • 1 medium green apple (chopped or thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup chopped gluten-free pretzels or nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds)
  • 1/4 cup melted chocolate for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and line a 9×13 sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Soak chopped apple pieces in water with lemon juice for 5–10 minutes to prevent browning.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate with coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared parchment paper, spreading it into an even layer about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Top with crushed pretzels, diced apple pieces, and drizzle melted caramel and any remaining melted chocolate.
  6. Refrigerate for 1–2 hours, or freeze for the last 20 minutes, until the chocolate is set.
  7. Break or cut the bark into bite-sized pieces and serve.

Notes

Consider adding a pinch of salt to the chocolate for contrast with the sweetness. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for best texture.
