Description
A comforting and flavorful goulash featuring ground beef, elbow macaroni, and a blend of spices that brings the warmth of home cooking to your table.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup chopped tomatoes (canned or fresh)
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 cup elbow macaroni
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, stirring occasionally. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and continue to sauté for another minute.
- Push the veggies to the side and add the ground beef. Break it apart with a spoon, allowing it to brown evenly, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Stir in the paprika, ground cumin, and dried oregano, mixing well to combine. Add the chopped tomatoes and tomato paste, stirring everything together.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Add the elbow macaroni, stirring to combine. Cover and let it cook for about 10-12 minutes or until the macaroni is tender.
Notes
Consider letting the goulash sit after cooking to enhance the flavors. You can also mix in various vegetables for different textures.
