Description

A comforting and flavorful goulash featuring ground beef, elbow macaroni, and a blend of spices that brings the warmth of home cooking to your table.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes (canned or fresh)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup elbow macaroni
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, stirring occasionally. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and continue to sauté for another minute.
  2. Push the veggies to the side and add the ground beef. Break it apart with a spoon, allowing it to brown evenly, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Stir in the paprika, ground cumin, and dried oregano, mixing well to combine. Add the chopped tomatoes and tomato paste, stirring everything together.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Add the elbow macaroni, stirring to combine. Cover and let it cook for about 10-12 minutes or until the macaroni is tender.

Notes

Consider letting the goulash sit after cooking to enhance the flavors. You can also mix in various vegetables for different textures.
