Description

A comforting Biscuits and Gravy Casserole that combines fluffy biscuit halves and rich sausage gravy for a perfect family meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (16 oz) buttermilk biscuits, halved
  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 1/2 cups whole milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9×13 casserole dish with non-stick spray.
  2. Arrange half of the biscuit halves in the dish and bake for about 10 minutes until lightly golden.
  3. In a large skillet, cook the ground sausage over medium heat until browned and crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle in the flour and stir for 2-3 minutes to develop the flavors.
  5. Slowly whisk in the milk, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until thickened.
  6. Pour the sausage gravy over the baked biscuits.
  7. Place the remaining biscuit halves on top.
  8. Return the dish to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving for the best texture.

Notes

For variations, consider using a mix of sausage types or adding cooked vegetables for extra flavor.
