- 1 cup whole milk

Instructions
- Heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the butter and olive oil to melt.
- Add the diced onion and garlic; sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Incorporate the sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and become tender, about 8-10 minutes.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms, stirring continuously for about 1 minute.
- Gradually pour in the broth while whisking to ensure no lumps form.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for about 15 minutes.
- Stir in the milk and season with salt and pepper, then simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
