Description

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or your favorite)
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes).
  4. Add vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts if using.
  7. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving 2 inches between each cookie.

Notes
