Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups (170g) all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 cup (112g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1/2 cup (100g) light brown sugar, packed
- 1/3 cup (70g) granulated sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 cups (250g) semisweet chocolate chips
- Flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and kosher salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted and cooled unsalted butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until paste-like.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, whisking until smooth.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients using a rubber spatula, folding in the chocolate chips.
- Use a large cookie scoop to portion out dough on the baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
- Let cool on a rack before serving, optionally topping with extra chocolate chips and flaky sea salt.
Notes
For the perfect texture, do not over-mix the dough. Refrigerate the dough for an hour for enhanced flavor.
