A classic beef stroganoff that combines tender beef steak strips with mushrooms and a creamy sauce, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef steak strips
- 8 oz mushrooms (sliced)
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onions until they are translucent.
- Add mushrooms and cook until they’re soft.
- Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set them aside.
- In the same skillet, add beef steak strips and cook until browned.
- Sprinkle flour over the beef and stir to coat.
- Gradually add beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
- Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens.
- Lower the heat and stir in sour cream.
- Add the sautéed mushrooms and onions back to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, and garlic.
- Cook for an additional few minutes.
- Garnish with parsley and serve over noodles or rice.

Use high-quality beef for optimal tenderness. Adjust thickness of sauce by varying flour used.
