Description

A classic beef stroganoff that combines tender beef steak strips with mushrooms and a creamy sauce, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef steak strips
  • 8 oz mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onions until they are translucent.
  2. Add mushrooms and cook until they’re soft.
  3. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set them aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add beef steak strips and cook until browned.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the beef and stir to coat.
  6. Gradually add beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
  7. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens.
  8. Lower the heat and stir in sour cream.
  9. Add the sautéed mushrooms and onions back to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, and garlic.
  10. Cook for an additional few minutes.
  11. Garnish with parsley and serve over noodles or rice.

Notes

Use high-quality beef for optimal tenderness. Adjust thickness of sauce by varying flour used.
