Description

A savory beef onion stir fry featuring tender beef, sweet caramelized onions, and hints of garlic and ginger, perfect for a quick dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine beef strips with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, garlic, and ginger. Let marinate for about 15 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned, about 3-5 minutes. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add sliced onions and cook until they are softened and slightly caramelized.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet, stir to combine, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, adding salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve hot over cooked rice.

Notes

Slice the beef and onions evenly for consistent cooking. Adjust seasoning to taste.
