A savory beef onion stir fry featuring tender beef, sweet caramelized onions, and hints of garlic and ginger, perfect for a quick dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine beef strips with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, garlic, and ginger. Let marinate for about 15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned, about 3-5 minutes. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced onions and cook until they are softened and slightly caramelized.
- Return the beef to the skillet, stir to combine, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, adding salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot over cooked rice.
