Description

A nostalgic family favorite, these beef and cheese oven baked tacos are a comforting and delicious meal with seasoned ground beef and melted cheese in crispy taco shells.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 12 taco shells
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1 can refried beans (optional)
  • Top with diced tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, and salsa

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the taco seasoning and prepare according to the package instructions.
  4. If using, warm refried beans in a small saucepan.
  5. Place taco shells in a baking dish. Layer each shell with refried beans, seasoned beef, and top with cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven and top with desired toppings before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

For added flavor, consider experimenting with different toppings like sliced jalapeños or diced onions. For a healthier twist, use lean ground turkey or chicken.
