- – 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- – 1/4 cup (60 ml) white vinegar
- – 3 tablespoons (45 ml) brown sugar
- – a dash of ground black pepper
- – 3 (15 cm) sub sandwich bread
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, blend together the sweet barbecue sauce, white vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of ground black pepper. Stir until well combined.
- Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts in a slow cooker and pour the sauce mixture over them.
- Cook on a low setting for approximately 5 to 6 hours. After 3 hours, shred the chicken and continue slow cooking. Monitor to ensure the liquid does not dry out.
- Distribute the cooked BBQ chicken evenly onto the center of each sub sandwich bread.
- Serve. Enjoy and share with others!
Notes
- For a tangier flavor, increase the amount of white vinegar in the sauce mixture before pouring over the chicken.
- Enhance the sweetness by adding extra brown sugar over the shredded chicken during the final hour of cooking.
- Toasting the sub sandwich bread before assembling the BBQ chicken sandwiches can provide a crispy texture and improve overall taste.
