Ingredients
- 100 grams unsalted butter
- 150 grams light brown sugar
- 1 medium egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 200 grams flour
- A pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 100 grams chocolate chips
- Extra chocolate chips for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 170°C (340°F).
- In a bowl, mix the butter and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, blending until smooth.
- Slowly incorporate the flour, salt, and baking soda until fully integrated.
- Gently knead the chocolate chips into the dough.
- Refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour (overnight for best results).
- Divide the dough into 16 equal pieces and shape them into balls.
- Prepare baking sheets, spacing the cookies apart, and sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes until golden brown but slightly soft in the middle.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
Chill the dough longer for a thicker cookie. Use room temperature butter for better mixing.
