Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
- Optional: ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- Optional: ¼ cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Stir in melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon if using.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts if using.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing out the top. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean or with moist crumbs.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a lighter texture, you can substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour. Adjust sugar for less sweetness.
