Description

A comforting banana bread recipe featuring rich chocolate chips and delightful memories.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • Optional: ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Optional: ¼ cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Stir in melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon if using.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts if using.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing out the top. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean or with moist crumbs.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a lighter texture, you can substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour. Adjust sugar for less sweetness.
