Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (for the frosting)
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for the frosting)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
- Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas. Stir until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, smoothing it out evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for around 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- While the brownies cool, prepare the frosting. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Once the brownies have cooled, spread the frosting over the top and cut into squares.
Notes
For extra banana flavor, consider mixing in chocolate chips or nuts. Let the brownies cool completely before frosting to avoid melting.
