Ingredients

  • 33333334326744 cup (80 ml) balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dried Italian herb seasoning
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil

Instructions

  1. Collect all necessary components.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken broth, balsamic vinegar, sugar, Italian herb seasoning, and minced garlic. Submerge the chicken breasts in this mixture, ensuring they soak for 10 minutes on each side.
  3. Warm up olive oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Take the chicken out of the marinade, setting the liquid aside. Place the chicken in the heated pan, cooking until the exterior is golden and the interior is cooked through, approximately 7 minutes per side.
  4. Add the marinade to the frying pan. Allow it to simmer until the sauce becomes slightly thickened, flipping the chicken breasts a couple of times, for around 5 minutes. Use an instant-read thermometer to check that the internal temperature of the chicken has reached at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

Notes

  • Gently pierce the chicken with a fork to help the marinade flavors penetrate deepernMonitor the heat carefully, as the sugar in the marinade can caramelize quicklynSimmer the sauce until it coats a spoon, ensuring it has thickened to flavor the chicken
