Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- Royal icing for decoration
- Food coloring (optional)
- Sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and baking soda until well combined.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, followed by the vanilla and almond extracts.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until fully combined.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Use cookie cutters to cut the dough into baby-themed shapes.
- Place the cookies on lined baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges turn lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool completely on wire racks before decorating.
- Use royal icing for decoration and add food coloring and sprinkles for extra flair.

Chill the dough if too soft; use flour on cookie cutters to prevent sticking. For best results, monitor baking to avoid over or undercooking.
