Description
Tender meatballs coated in a sweet and tangy sauce, perfect for family gatherings or comfort food cravings.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. ground turkey
- 2 tsp. sesame oil
- 1 cup dry plain bread crumbs
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 2 lightly beaten eggs
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
- 2/3 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/3 cup rice vinegar
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. honey
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
- 1 1/2 tsp. sesame oil
- 1 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1 tsp. sriracha sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, sesame oil, dry bread crumbs, ground ginger, eggs, and minced garlic. Mix thoroughly.
- Shape the mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs and place them on the baking sheet.
- Bake meatballs for 20-23 minutes or until no longer pink in the center.
- While meatballs are baking, prepare the sauce by combining hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, sesame oil, ground ginger, soy sauce, and sriracha in a skillet. Boil and stir for about 5 minutes until thickened.
- Once the meatballs are baked, transfer them to the skillet and coat well with the sauce.
- Serve over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of lime juice to the sauce before serving.
