Description

Tender meatballs coated in a sweet and tangy sauce, perfect for family gatherings or comfort food cravings.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. ground turkey
  • 2 tsp. sesame oil
  • 1 cup dry plain bread crumbs
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 2 lightly beaten eggs
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 2/3 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/3 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tsp. sesame oil
  • 1 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. sriracha sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, sesame oil, dry bread crumbs, ground ginger, eggs, and minced garlic. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs and place them on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake meatballs for 20-23 minutes or until no longer pink in the center.
  5. While meatballs are baking, prepare the sauce by combining hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, sesame oil, ground ginger, soy sauce, and sriracha in a skillet. Boil and stir for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  6. Once the meatballs are baked, transfer them to the skillet and coat well with the sauce.
  7. Serve over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of lime juice to the sauce before serving.
