Ingredients
- 1 slice of thick-cut bread (like brioche or challah)
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 apple (diced)
- 2 tablespoons pecans (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing the muffin tin)
- Maple syrup (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Whisk together the milk, egg, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
- Tear or cut the bread into small pieces and add it to the mixture, allowing it to soak for a few minutes.
- Fold in the diced apple, chopped pecans, and brown sugar carefully.
- Grease a muffin tin with butter and spoon the mixture into the cups, filling them about 3/4 full.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown and set.
- Allow to cool slightly before removing from the tin to enjoy.
- Serve warm with maple syrup drizzled on top.
Notes
For a sweeter treat, increase the brown sugar slightly. These cups can be prepared the night before for a quicker morning prep.
