Ingredients
- 250 g (1 cup) softened butter
- 150 g (3/4 cup) sugar
- 10 g (2 tsp) vanilla sugar
- 5 eggs
- 50 ml (1/4 cup) milk
- 400 g (3 1/4 cups) flour
- 1 pack of baking powder
- 1 kg (about 4 cups) of apples
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) lemon juice
- Some lemon zest
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) sugar
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) cinnamon
- icing sugar
Instructions
- Set your oven to 180°C for top and bottom heating.
- Place baking paper on a deep baking sheet.
- Remove the peel, halve, remove the core, and cut the apples into quarters. Make shallow cuts on their surfaces with a knife.
- Pour lemon juice over the apples.
- Use a grater to remove some zest from a lemon.
- Blend the softened butter with sugar and vanilla sugar until creamy.
- Incorporate the eggs one by one, mixing each for around a minute.
- Combine milk, flour, salt, lemon zest, and baking powder into the mixture and stir well.
- Evenly spread the batter over the prepared baking sheet and arrange the apples on top, pressing them gently into the mixture.
- Mix cinnamon with sugar and sprinkle over the apples.
- Bake the dessert for approximately 45 minutes.
- Allow to cool, then dust with icing sugar before serving. Enjoy!
