Description

Learn how to make a delicious 30-minute beef stir fry with vegetables that is quick, easy, and perfect for a weeknight dinner on our cooking website.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs (900 g) Beef Steak
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 8 oz (225 g) broccoli
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/2 bunch green onions
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) oil, vegetable
  • 6 tbsp (90 ml) soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) fresh ginger

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl or measuring jug, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and ginger by whisking them together to make the marinade for the stir fry. Set it aside for later use.
  2. Cut the bell pepper into strips, break the broccoli into small florets, slice the onion into half rings, and chop the green onions.
  3. Cut the steak into thin slices, ensuring you slice against the grain.
  4. Heat a wok or deep frying pan with oil. Add the vegetables (excluding green onions) and cook on medium-high heat until they are golden brown. Take them out and set them aside.
  5. Using the same wok or pan, cook the beef strips over high heat until they turn golden brown.
  6. Return the cooked vegetables and green onions to the wok with the beef. Pour in the marinade, stir everything together well, and cook on low heat for 2-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Enjoy it as it is or pair it with your preferred side dish. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Marinate beef in soy sauce mixture for 30 minutes for tender meat.
  • Add carrots or snap peas for extra flavor and color.
  • Adjust brown sugar amount to taste for desired sweetness level.
